Introductory Remarks
by Jennifer Sokol, manager

Playing for weddings was not in my future plans as a young, eager violin student. I began studies at age three and quickly mastered Twinkle Twinkle, content to perform the cleverly composed Suzuki variations at group lessons and recitals. A new adventure! Next came a large array of minuets, gavottes and bourrées which were added to my repertoire and also performed many times with the other students. More great fun!

But by age six these countless repetitions seemed impossibly tedious. What, I wondered, was the point? Finally, one day I asked my violin teacher, "Why do we have to play the same pieces SO many times?"

"Because," she began, her voice calm, "one day you will be at a party and someone will ask you to play something, and you will have something to play."

Amazed at the future performance possibility, I accepted the idea.

Today I smile, marveling at the wisdom of my former teacher. As our Cameo String Quartet performs at dozens of weddings and events each year, not only do we play much of the same repertoire, but we thoroughly enjoy doing so. Whether Pachelbel's popular Canon in D or Wagner's beloved Bridal Chorus, the experience always feels brand new. Most of all, we enjoy pleasing the clients we serve. Listen to a few gratifying comments:

"Thank you for helping to make our wedding as beautiful as possible. Your music really created such a wonderful atmosphere."

"Thank you for being a part of our wedding day. Having a string quartet was the perfect edition to making our event truly elegant."

" . . . we would refer you in a heartbeat. We appreciate everything!"
And we would love to create a memory of beautiful music at your wedding as well. So feel free to contact me today!
