For nearly five decades, the historic Smith Tower was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Today, 93 years after it�s completion, it has been restored to its original glory. The crown jewel of the Smith Tower is the Chinese Room, which occupies the 35th floor of the tower, and the open-air Observation Deck runs on all four sides of the tower, around the Chinese Room. Views are spectacular in every direction and include Seattle�s downtown and waterfront, the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, Mt. Rainier, and both of Seattle�s stadiums.

The Chinese Room is distinguished by a hand-carved ceiling, hand-carved and lacquered furniture and 17th century works of art, all gifts from the Empress of China in 1907, as well as the famed Wishing Chair.
